The surf spots around Aljezur are considered to be the most consistent waves in the Algarve. Depending on swell, wind direction & tide, we'll go to the most suitable surfing spot of the day for your surf level. If the waves are too high on the entire west coast, it is also possible to switch to the south coast of the Algarve to guarantee the best chances of good waves. This variety of surfing spots is unique in Europe and even though this may involve slightly longer travel times, we can offer our guests the really best surfing experience in southern Portugal every day.
Our mountaintop yoga deck is located at the highest point of our area with far-sighted views of the rolling hills of the Algarve.

Our certified teacher will cater to you, your body and your yoga level. From beginners to experienced yogi, everyone can take something for themselves in our sessions.
Our yoga deck is particularly suitable for all those who want to completely switch off during yoga classes in order to find focus, deceleration and relaxation. In the midst of the untouched nature of the habitat, at the highest point, you will enjoy a unique view during your practice and be able to feel at home.
In the morning before breakfast, you will start the day strengthened by our first activating yoga session. You don't need any previous experience for our yoga lessons. Every level is welcome. Our coaches ensure that you feel individually challenged, supported and, of course, absolutely comfortable at all times.
The second yoga class of the day is a very relaxing yin session in the red light of sunset, so that the day can be completed in a relaxed way. In yin, we focus on stretching and releasing tense muscle groups. Especially after surfing lessons or active days, your body will be looking forward to this relaxing hour before dinner.
Guided meditation sessions are included in the yoga classes in small parts and are offered in an even more intensive form in the Yoga & Create package. Every coach is happy to hear your wishes and has an open ear to make your yoga experience in Habitat Algarve as fulfilling as possible.

Our kitchen offers you delicious, healthy and rich food that provides you with the necessary energy for your activities. Look forward to a mix of Portuguese, Moroccan and European cuisine. Our vegetarian/vegan meals are always fresh & prepared with love. We source most of our ingredients from our own farms, local markets and local farmers.
We attach great importance to producing as much as possible ourselves. Be it the wide variety of vegetables and fruit from our garden, our own bread, fresh goat cheese or homemade soap and laundry detergent, even fertilizer. We also try out a lot and are always trying to find new ways to make something ourselves.
We know exactly what the ingredients are and save ourselves long delivery routes and packaging waste.
The Algarve habitat is nestled between forests and rolling hills on the southwest coast of Portugal. There is nothing but nature around us. Towns and beaches are at least 20 minutes away by car. Here, we create our own microclimate piece by piece. Back to our roots, living sustainably with and in nature.

The Surf, Yoga & Create package also includes 5 surf lessons, including theory and transfer, as well as a surf video analysis. The Yoga & Create package does not include surf lessons but instead offers 3 additional workshops that change seasonally, always focusing on creativity, crafting, or nature.

Your week starts with Saturday as the day of arrival, when you can relax and get to know the other guests over dinner together. The sessions take place from Sunday to Friday, with Wednesday being your free and customizable day. After breakfast, you can set off to explore the area, visit local cafés, go on a horseback ride, enjoy healing treatments or give your body some rest in the habitat.

Habitat Algarve Insights

*Program depending on which package you choose. The surf lesson or workshop can also take place in the afternoon, for example. If your Yoga & Create workshop does not take place parallel to the surf lesson, you are welcome to ride with the surfers to the beach free of charge.
A day during your week could look like this, subject to minor changes. This is the supporting program that we offer. You alone decide how you want to organize your day.
Your way to the Algarve habitat
We are located in the fantastically hilly hinterland of Aljezur, surrounded by pure nature, 25 minutes from the beach & town.
- 2 airports nearby
- Faro (1.5 hours by car)
- Shuttle service upon request after booking is completed (up to 7 days before arrival)
- Lisbon (3 hours by car)
- Car rental recommended for independent mobility
Shuttle prices from Faro cost 120 euros and can be divided between up to 4 people. When arriving at Lisbon airport, we highly recommend renting a car or taking the bus due to the high shuttle costs.
Please note that the shuttle is not operated by us. We can only help you book the shuttle so that everything runs smoothly on site and, if necessary, guests can share a vehicle. Our guests travel from various directions and we usually only receive all information ourselves at very short notice. Therefore, please plan the full amount for your budget if you order the shuttle.
Alternatively, you can rent a car at the airport. In this way, you are more independent locally if it is important to you, for example, to explore other cities and beaches in the area. We have plenty of parking spaces in Habitat Algarve, free of charge, of course. If you want to travel by bus, you would go to Lagos or better yet Aljezur. After Janina & Markus left their jobs in the hotel & catering industry, they traveled across Europe in their van for years. After arriving in the Algarve, it was clear that they could perfectly implement their dream of their own project in harmony with nature here. The paradisiacal property in the relaxed hinterland of Aljezur was love at first sight.
Since then, the German-Austrian couple have built up a small farm with animals & permaculture. We are proud that we were able to found Surf Spirit - Habitat Algarve with you & share the same philosophy.

It was a wonderful experience! I can recommend going there as a solo traveler. The sta ff is soo kind & always here for you. The place is just paradise. (d) Waking up with bird noises and walking through orange trees. & oh and the food was soo fresh & delicious.

Yoga Activating Vinyasa & Evening Yoga Restorative Yin The yoga teacher Ronja gave wonderful yoga classes. In the morning for an active start to the day and in the evening to relax the muscles and mind. We had a wonderful week and will definitely be back.
